What is Plant Colour?
Plant-based colouring is a natural alternative to conventional chemical hair colour. It provides professional results whilst maintaining a healthy environment for you, your client and their hair!
The Basics.
Plant colour works slightly differently to the chemical colouring process. Instead of forcing open the hair cuticle (like ammonia or MEA does), plant colour coats the cuticle and forms a protective shield.

Coating the Hair
Natural pigments adhere to the surface of the hair without opening and penetrating the cuticle, forming a protective sheath. This method respects the hair's structure while giving it shine, brilliance, and natural highlights.

Mixing with Water
Our plant colour activates with warm or hot water, rather than adding any extra chemicals in activator. This is more cost effective for you, and is part of the natural and healthy ethos of Terre de Couleur.

Suitable for All
Our plant hair colours can be used on clients undergoing treatment such as chemotherapy, or those experiencing pregnancy or breastfeeding without fear of harmful chemicals. For clients who are sensitive to PPD or PTD, our colours may offer an alternative.

Before colouring, we must deeply detox the hair. This ensures removal of any products, heavy metals, pollution and toxins, that could affect the colour performance.

Rather than forcing the cuticle open with harsh chemicals, we coat the hair instead. Providing long lasting results without compromising hair, or client health.

Fix
After colouring, this conditioning balm nourishes and detangles the hair without weighing it down, giving lightness, shine, softness and fixing the plant colour.
